Swedish prosecutors investigating a suspected gang rape and its broadcast via Facebook Live said on Friday they had received a copy of the footage from the US social media company. Prosecutors earlier this month charged two men with raping a woman in January, and a third with the crime of "grave defamation" by streaming it live or with a slight delay online. The three deny the charges. "We have received the material," Prosecutor Magnus Berggren told Reuters, saying he had confirmation that the alleged assault had been streamed live. Sweden made a formal request to the US justice department for help in obtaining the footage from  Facebook . Police were alerted to the case by viewers who saw the broadcast. The case brings into focus complex ethical and policy issues faced by Facebook Live and other streaming services. Snap Inc., the maker of mobile messaging service Snapchat, unveiled a way for users to submit video and photos to stories that can be searched and seen by a wider audience. Snap  had been hand-curating publicly submitted stories into video reels about ongoing events, like the Super Bowl or the Women's March. Now the company is also using information in posts, like text and visual elements, to automatically display relevant ones in a search. Posts are only searchable when users make them public by submitting them to "Our Story," an option users get when deciding who gets to see their photos and videos. It's the company's first major search product, and the first new product since its initial public offering earlier in March. The company needs to churn out new updates and services because Facebook is steadily cloning Snapchat's most-popular features. Verizon Communications said on Friday it would change its operating structure to focus on three areas, and named former Ericsson Chief Executive Officer Hans Vestberg to lead its newly created network and technology team. Vestberg's team will work on building out the company's fibre network infrastructures,  Verizon  said. He will initially be based in Sweden, and is expected to join the US-based team later this spring. Verizon's media and telematics unit will focus on growing the company's new businesses in digital media, including integrating its  pending acquisition  of  Yahoo Inc . It will be led by Marni Walden as executive vice president for media and telematics. The company's customer and product operations team, led by John Stratton, will work on operating and growing Verizon's established businesses, such as Verizon Wireless and Verizon Enterprise Solutions. Separately, the Associated Press reports that privacy watchdog Electronic Frontier Found

Every few decades or so, game companies take a stab at trying to make virtual reality a legitimate, mainstream gaming option. In the past, Sega and Nintendo tried their luck with Sega VR and the Virtual Boy respectively. Now, it’s the turn of Sony to do the same with PlayStation VR (PS VR) for consoles, while Oculus and the Valve-HTC combine duke it out in the PC world. Alongside is a breakout box that’s shaped like a PS4 (albeit much smaller), which is needed for  additional processing power , an adapter, a Micro-USB cable, a pair of earphones, an HDMI cable, and the necessary guides to get you started.'
