Tata Sky launches India’s First 4K Set top box
After Tata Sky revealing its plans to bring 4K streaming to our TV’s way back in July 2014, it has finally launched India’s first 4K set top box. The launch is intentionally timed right before the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, so that fans could enjoy their favorite sport in 4K quality.
The new 4K set top box can stream content in 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD), with Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 Surround Sound. 4K is actually four times the pixels (resolution of 3840×2160)than the current standard of HD (1920×1080) streaming, this not only gives the viewers better clarity but also more vivid colours. There is an option also to stream Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD) channels as well. and its taken as a default that you need a 4K TV to view 4K.
We were showcased a live 4K broadcast of the FIFA World Cup 2014 match between France and Germany to show their plans to bring 4K to our homes! Since there isn’t much 4K content available currently, jumping into the 4K bandwagon might not be the right choice, but would definitely make you future ready for the 4K that would soon follow in the coming years.
