Google Pixel, Pixel XL to go on sale in India from October 25

Google's Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones will go on sale starting October 25 in offline as well online portals. "The future is exciting. And by future we mean 3 days from now. #Pixel will start reaching stores on 25th October #madebygoogle," the official Google account tweeted on Saturday.

While announcing the launch of the smartphones in San Francisco earlier this month, Google had revealed that India will be amongst the first six countries to receive the new devices by the end of October.

The tech giant has also revealed a few online and offline partners for the Pixel smartphones. The devices will be available at over 1000 plus organized and multi-brand retail stores with leading retail partners including Reliance Digital, Croma and Vijay sales among others. The Pixel devices come with dedicated phone support with support hours between 9:00 am to 6:00 pm, seven days a week. Google is also offering support at 56 walk-in service centres across 30+ cities in India. For after-sales support, Google has partnered with HTC India.

The Pixel features a 5inch QHD AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 64-bit chipset clocked at 2.15Ghz with 4GB RAM. Google claims to have added the best camera optics in the smartphone, featuring a 12.3 MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture with features such as HDR+, smartbust. It can capture 4K videos and comes with video stabilization. There is an 8MP front facing camera. But the biggest highlight of Pixel is the inbuilt Google Assistant and the Google Duo app, which will be pre-installed on the device. Google is also offering unlimited storage cloud for high resolution images and even 4K videos captured by the Pixel. With the 2770 mAh battery onboard, it also supports quick charge too.

While the hardware specifications of both the Pixel smartphones are same, Pixel XL features a 5.5 inch display, along with a 3450 mAh battery. Both the devices will have aluminium unibody, polished glass combination and will be available in 32GB and 128GB storage capacities.

The Google Pixel will retail for Rs 57,000 for 32GB and Rs 66,000 for 128GB in India. The elder sibling, Pixel XL, is priced at Rs 67,000 for 32GB and Rs 76,000 for 128GB. Google has announced the new smartphones in three colours including Blue, however, only Quiet Black and Very Silver will be available in India.
